OVERVIEW

The Cheverly STEM Education Center offers a wide variety of STEM courses that are not ordinarily available to homeschool students.  Our classes meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from September to May.  We are located in beautiful downtown Cheverly, MD, in the heart of Prince George's County. We have a full lab as well as five classrooms at the Cheverly United Methodist Church (CUMC), but we are not affiliated with any religious domination. We specialize in classes that support the homeschooling journey for students between the ages of 11 and 18 years old. We provide an engaging learning environment most suitable for students ready for group settings.  The Cheverly STEM Education Center offers the best parts of school: exciting classes, knowledgeable faculty, supportive environment, hands-on learning, recess and time for friendships to form, without the confines of tests, overbearing schedules, unnecessary grades or pressure.

Cheverly STEM offers four 7-week quarters a year, for a total of 28 weeks of classes. Each 7-week quarter functions in an independent self contained unit, that also builds sequentially into a full-year long course. Many of our high school courses are cumulative in native, making it difficult to join in mid-year.  ) while many of our middle school classes take on new topic each quarter, making it easier to join throughout the year.

Our school day hours are from 10 am to 3 pm, with a full hour for students to have lunch and recess. Half-day students are welcome to join in for lunch/recess as well.

Information concerning course content and fees, as well as specifics about our teachers are available on this website, however, should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email us at info@cheverlystem.com
