Engineering 101


Grade Level

Wednesday 10 to 11 am & Wednesday 11 am to noon

7th to 8th graders at 10 & 5th to 6th graders at 11


About the Course

This class will challenge students to explore the engineering design process with cool projects focusing on forces, structures, energy, motion and more. As projects vary year by year, students can take this class once, twice or even three times with no repeats - exception for that roller coaster project Jeanne does every year, she just loves that one! This class is idea for middle school students. Little or no homework can be expected

Your Instructor

Jeanne Robinson

Jeanne is the Director/Co-founder of Cheverly STEM. She is a seasoned homeschooling mom of seven children. She is a yogi and vegetarian by nature and an engineer by training (UMCP). Jeanne has been working in the field of civil engineering for 30+ years. During which she managed multi-million dollar budgets and supervised thousands of employees - training many of them. Additionally, she and her husband have built home additions, decks and custom furniture, as well as their own geodesic home in Cheverly. She loves working with young people and looks forward to meeting your family.
